Meet Laura and Jeff

Laura Campos, Architect

Upon receiving her architectural degree with a specialty in bioclimatic architectural design in 2001 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, Laura has been working on architectural design and project management on residential projects in Los Cabos, and Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico and, for the past 16 years, in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico with a focus on sustainable architecture in colonial and contemporary architectural styles.

Jeffrey Rottler, Natural Builder

With a long standing interest in vernacular and natural building techniques, Jeff has striven to build a team of talented masons, brick vault builders, plasterers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, engineers, ironworkers, as well as industry leading suppliers of cantera, granite, marble, quartz, mosaic, clay, ceramic and stone wall finishes and flooring, PVC windows and doors, hot water and photovoltaic solar systems and rainwater harvesting systems. Jeff grew up in rural Iowa, USA, moved west and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains, studied Sociology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, USA, at which time he fell in love with the Mexican culture and the Spanish language. Jeff has made San Miguel de Allende his home for the past 18 years.  He has worked on a wide array of residential building projects.
